Hotron Technology

Active Infrared Sensor Technology

Active Infrared sensors transmit and measure the reflection levels of infrared light. They take a snap shot of the reflection levels in the detection zone and any change in the properties of the reflected wave will indicate that a person or object is in the detection area, causing the sensor relay to trip.

Hotron Active Infrared sensors are easy to install and adjust. They can detect motion and static presence and have a high immunity to the negative effects of external influences such as reflections and fluorescent light . Some Hotron Infrared sensors have the ability to memorise but ignore door motion.

Microwave Sensor Technology

Microwave sensors operate on the Doppler principle. They register and compare the frequency of transmitted and reflected signals. People and objects cause disparities between the emitted and received frequencies as they move through the monitored zone, thereby activating the sensor relay.

Hotron Microwave Sensors boast a large elliptical detection area. They can detect motion only, detect uni or bi-directional traffic and can activate the swing-side of swing doors without detecting door movement.

Ultrasonic Sensor Technology

Ultrasonic sensors emit inaudible soundwaves, whilst simultaneously scanning for waves that are reflected at a preset speed, corresponding to the height that the sensor is installed. Soundwaves reflected at a faster speed indicate that someone has entered the detection zone causing the sensor relay to trip.

Hotron Ultrasonic Sensors possess conical detection areas, the ability to detect both motion and static presences and can memorise and ignore door motion.
